- The student should hold domicile status in the Uttar Pradesh state
- Candidates belonging to the ST / SC / General category are eligible
- The applicant is required to be studying in Class 9 or Class 10
- The yearly family income of the student should not be over INR 1 lakh

Pre Matric Scholarship for SC, ST & General Students Uttar Pradesh 2023-24: Compulsory Documents
Among the list of documents to be submitted include:
- Residential Proof including electricity bill, gas bill, voter ID, driving license, PAN card, or Aadhaar Card
- Copies of Caste Certificate, Domicile Certificate, Income Certificate, and Birth Certificate
- 1 passport-sized photo of the student
- Educational mark sheets and certificates of past exams
- Copy of School Admission Letter / School Current Year Fee Receipt
- Bank Passbook copy of the student and his/her parents

Find more about the application process for the scholarship programme herein:
- As your initial step, go to the SAKSHAM portal
- Navigate to the “Student” tab seen on the main menu bar and tap the “Registration” link from the drop-down menu
- Next, click the “Prematric (Fresh)” tab under the “ST, SC, General Category (Fresh)” section for the system to be directed to the Online Registration Page
- Go ahead and register on the website, at which point the system generates your “Registration ID” and “Password”
- Subsequently, on the home page, click the “Student” tab and click the tabs “Fresh Login” and “Prematric Student Login” displayed in the submenu
- On the following login page, input your login details and “Submit” the same
- The system will then exhibit the application instructions
- Make sure to study all the guidelines before clicking the “Proceed” tab
- When the Online Application page appears on the screen, fill in the given fields and “Submit” your details
- Subsequently, the system prompts you to upload your documents
- After submitting your documents, always review your application to check for any errors
- If no corrections are needed, submit your application online as the final step
