The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is accepting applications for both the Single Girl Child Scholarship 2023 and the Single Girl Child Scholarship 2022 Renewal 2023. The CBSE has been offering this scholarship since the year 2006 to encourage young female students to pursue higher studies.
Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can apply for this scholarship scheme between 19th September 2023 and 18th October 2023. The CBSE will accept only online applications made from the official website, https://www.cbse.gov.in/cbsenew/scholar.html. The Board does not accept offline applications.
As part of this scholarship program, single girls who are Indian Nationals studying in CBSE-affiliated schools are eligible to apply. They are required to have secured minimum 60% in their Class X exams. This scholarship is also open for NRI applicants, although they will not receive more than INR 6000 per month to cover their tuition fees.
Youngsters enrolled from Class 11 to Class 12 can apply and scholarships will be granted on the basis of their academic performance and family background. The monthly academic fees in Class X must not be more than INR 1500 and the increase in fees should not cross the 10% threshold for Class XI and Class XII fees.
Every year, CBSE will review the academic performance of the scholarship beneficiaries. Only students who score at least 50% marks in Class XI and get promoted to Class XII will continue to receive the scholarship money.
The CBSE has instructed all affiliated schools to validate the scholarship applications of the female applicants. The applications will be verified from 25th September 2023 to 25th October 2023 via the official web portal.

#Step 1: Make sure to read all the application instructions and eligibility norms. Go on to apply for the scholarship program only upon satisfying the given criteria. Single girl children of Indian Nationality who have scored minimum 60% marks in Class X can apply. NRI candidates pursuing education in CBSE-affiliated schools are eligible to apply, albeit with fee limitations.
#Step 2: Collect the mandatory documents, including a recent passport-sized photo, Class X mark sheet, an affidavit signed by the candidate’s parent / guardian, and a copy of the first page of the bank passbook or a cancelled bank cheque.
#Step 3: Browse the official portal on the application dates – from 19th September 2023 to 18th October 2023. Creating an account on the official website is mandatory.
#Step 4: Provide all the details as mentioned in the online application form and attach the compulsory documents, including a scanned photo.
#Step 5: Apply only if the monthly tuition fee in Class 10 was up to INR 1500 and the hike in fees does not exceed 10% in Class XI and Class XII.
#Step 6: Following submission of your application, the CBSE will verify all details mentioned in your application between 25th September 2023 and 25th October 2023 on the official web portal.
