Assam Scholarship 2024

The Directorate of Higher Education (DHE) working under the Government of Assam provides scholarships for Pre-Matric and Post-Matric courses to youngsters who are permanent residents of the state every year. Based on merit in their academics, the students are granted scholarships by the Assam state government. Students belonging to impoverished sections of society are eligible to apply for these scholarships. Through scholarships, the government is encouraging students to pursue higher studies.

Assam Scholarships 2024: Various Types

The different types of Assam Scholarships 2024 are studied in the following details:

  1. Pre-Matric Scholarship for OBC Students, Assam (for OBC): Students enrolled in Classes 1 to 10 are invited to apply for this scholarship program. He/she is required to secure at least 60% attendance in the past year. Also, the annual income of the student’s family must not exceed Rs 2.5 lakh.
  2. Pre-Matric Scholarship for ST Students (for Classes 1 to 8), Assam (for ST): This scholarship scheme is open to any student who is studying in classes from Class 1 to Class 8 in any Government-recognized institution. Moreover, the annual income of the student’s family does not have to exceed Rs 50000.
  3. Pre-Matric Scholarship for ST Students (for Classes 9 and 10), Assam (for ST): The applicant has to be studying in Class 9 or Class 10 in government-run or government-recognized schools to avail this scholarship. Additionally, the annual income of the student’s family must not be more than Rs 2 lakh per annum. Furthermore, the applicant does not have to be availing any Pre-Matric Scholarship of the Central Government of India.
  4. Post Matric Scholarship for OBC Students, Assam (for OBC): The aspirant has to be pursuing Post-Matriculation studies (ranging from Class 11 to Post-Doctoral level) from a recognized education institution. Besides, the yearly income of the family of the student should not be more than Rs 1.5 lakh.
  5. Post Matric Scholarship for ST Students, Assam (for ST): Any student pursuing Post-Matriculation studies from a government-recognized institution is eligible to apply for this scholarship. Moreover, the annual income of the student’s family has to be less than Rs 2 lakh from all sources.
  6. Means cum Merit Scholarship, Assam (open for all students): He/she has to pursue a full-time degree course in the fields of Arts, Science, and Commerce at a government-recognized college in Assam. In addition to that, they have to score minimum 60% marks in the Higher Secondary Exams. Also, the yearly income of the family of the student should not be more than Rs 2.5 per annum.

  • The first step includes browsing the official website of the National Scholarship portal, https://scholarships.gov.in/
  • Here, you must read all the instructions and eligibility norms to apply for the Assam Scholarships 2024
  • As your subsequent step, you have to go through the Registration process. Among details you have to share during Registration include first name, email ID, gender, last name, middle name, date of birth mobile number, community, and security code.
  • Upon successful registration, you will receive your login details, which are “Application Number” and “Password”
  • Subsequently, you must log in to your account for accessing the Online Application Form.
  • Proceed by providing the mandatory information and uploading scanned copies of your document
  • Continue by checking all details in your application and then submitting your application form
  • Always keep a print copy of your Application for reference purposes
